🌿 ASCC Awarded EcoVadis Gold for Sustainability Excellence
Achieving Gold is not just a milestone—it’s a reflection of the work we’ve done to embed sustainability into every level of our operations. From reducing our environmental impact and strengthening our governance policies to fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement, we are proud to lead by example in the chemical distribution industry.
Thank you to our dedicated team and valued partners who have supported us on this journey. Together, we’re building a more sustainable future.
At ASCC, sustainability isn’t just a goal—it’s a mindset. We’re weaving responsible business practices into the very fabric of our operations. Over the past year, we’ve worked to create a culture where environmental care, community wellbeing, and long-term business success go hand in hand. From leadership engagement to everyday action, our commitment is growing stronger, and we’re proud of how far we’ve come.
We’ve started tracking our emissions, made strides in ethical practices, and aligned ourselves with global frameworks to ensure we’re on the right path. It’s a journey of continuous improvement, and we’re setting our sights on meaningful milestones—like reducing our carbon footprint, achieving EcoVadis Gold, and bringing all of our global operations into alignment with sustainability best practices.
Good governance is at the heart of any responsible business. At ASCC, we take pride in doing the right thing—and ensuring our people are supported to do the same. This year, we strengthened our ethical policies, reinforced expectations around respectful behaviour, and maintained 100% employee participation in training on ethics, bullying prevention, and anti-corruption.
It’s about more than policies, though—it’s about culture. We’ve built a shared understanding of our values and priorities, guided by open dialogue and consistent leadership. Whether it’s how we treat one another or how we operate in the marketplace, we aim to lead with integrity and trust.
Sustainability isn’t a one-size-fits-all approach—it’s about understanding what matters most and acting with purpose. This year, we worked with experts to refine our strategy based on what our employees, customers, and partners care about most. The result? A roadmap that reflects our values and gives us a clear direction forward.
We’ve laid the foundation for tracking our progress over time, setting short- and long-term goals that are ambitious but achievable. With guidance from industry frameworks and a growing internal task force, we’re making sure that sustainability is more than a project—it’s a part of how we grow.
Our planet is changing, and so must we. As a chemical distribution company, we take our environmental responsibilities seriously. We’ve begun measuring our emissions—those we directly cause, those from the energy we use, and those that come from across our supply chain. These insights help us identify opportunities to reduce our impact and make smarter, greener choices.
From switching to more energy-efficient equipment to exploring solar options and partnering with experts on climate risks, we’re taking steps to future-proof our operations. It’s not just about compliance—it’s about care. We’re committed to protecting the air we breathe, the water we use, and the communities we’re part of.
This year, we took a closer look at everything from office waste to production byproducts, and we introduced a number of initiatives to REDUCE, REUSE, and RECYCLE. Whether it’s paper, e-waste, or even chemical flushings, we’re finding smarter, safer ways to manage what we leave behind.
We also joined up with community programs like Containers for Change, ensuring that some of our recycling efforts benefit important causes. These efforts are a reflection of our values: use only what we need, waste less, and always look for a second life for materials.
Our people are our greatest strength, and their safety and wellbeing are our top priorities. From regular training to open conversations, we’ve created a workplace where everyone is encouraged to speak up, take care of each other, and grow together. And this year, we’re proud to say we’ve had zero lost-time injuries—a true reflection of our team’s vigilance and care.
Wellbeing also means feeling supported in your day-to-day life. That’s why we offer flexible work arrangements, mental health resources, wellness perks like on-site massages, and programs that support career development. We’re here to help our people thrive, not just at work, but in life.
We believe everyone deserves the opportunity to grow, lead, and be heard. This year, we celebrated the launch of our “THRIVE- Women in the Workplace” initiative—created by and for women (and some men 😉) at ASCC, with a focus on supporting ambition, financial empowerment, and wellbeing. It’s just one of many ways we’re building an inclusive, empowering culture.
From celebrating International Women’s Day and Men’s Health Week, to spotlighting leaders like Melissa Greaves who inspire us every day, we’re committed to creating a workplace that lifts people up. Diversity isn’t a checkbox—it’s a cornerstone of our strength.
Every product we distribute carries a story—and we want that story to reflect care, responsibility, and sustainability at every step. We’ve set a clear goal to map our supply chain more closely, which means building stronger relationships with our suppliers. By fostering open communication, asking the right questions, and gaining deeper insights into their practices, we’re working together to better understand and reduce our collective environmental impact. We’ve revised our procurement policies to reflect our commitment to these goals.
Transparency is key to trust. That’s why we make our key documents and sustainability reports available for anyone to access. Our 2024 Corporate Sustainability Report outlines the progress we’ve made and the path ahead, while our Modern Slavery Statement and Customer Code of Conduct show our commitment to ethical practices at every level.
We know this journey is ongoing—and we’re committed to sharing it openly, learning as we go, and inviting others to join us. Should you have any questions about our sustainability plan please contact us.
